She is survived by: her husband Dennis Lee Kates; her children, Barbara Kates, Dennis Kates, Jr. (Kali) and Clifford Kates; her siblings, Alan Spence (Diane) and Reta Garner (Edgar); and her grandchildren, Christopher Bean, Austin Bean, Emorie Bean, Destiny Kates, Karlee Kates, Kelsie Kates and Cheyanne Kates.
