He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Hazel Owens Scruggs and Pastor Ray Scruggs; his wife Vera Scruggs; his daughters, Crysti James (Travis), Michelle Whitmire (Jeff) and Rebecca King; his siblings, Kathy Tolbert (Rusty), Susan Johnson (David) and Tim Scruggs (Robin); his grandchildren, Aaron James, Elijah James, Caleb Scruggs, Jordan James, Logan King, Jacob Whitmire, Noah Whitmire and Indy Hope James; his great grandchild Rylie James Along; his brother Randy Scruggs; and his granddaughter Cadence Ray James.
