He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Harold Vest (Yvonne) and Frances Buchanan Vest; his son Jessie Vest (Hannah); his granddaughter Adelynn Mae Vest; his stepsiblings, Jerry Buchanan (Kim), Michael Buchanan (Patty) and Teresa Griggs (Richard); and his brother Scott Vest.
