He was predeceased by: his wife Penny Ann Crumley Short; and his parents, Al David "Tony" and Sylvia Jean Barnett Short. He is survived by: his son Chris Lightle (Theresa); his brothers, Allen Short (Rhonda), Darrell Short (Diane) and Everette Short (Lori); his grandchildren, Zach, Danielle, Summer, Kimmie and Cody; his great grandchildren, Madison and Carter; and his nephew Daniel Short.
