He was predeceased by: his parents, Cliff Cox and Etolia Hightower Cox; and his sister Carolyn Nabors. He is survived by: his wife Mary Katrina Cox (Dilworth); his children, Teresa Michelle Cox (Bryan) of Greenville, Larry "Buddy" James Cox, Jr. (Kelli) of Greenville and Troy Shane Cox of Greenville; his brothers, Jimmy Cox (Lou Ann) of Greenville and Thomas Evans of Charlottesville, VA; his grandchildren, Alexandria Neshan (Nick), Braeden Compton, Braxon Troy Cox and Skylyn-Rae Cox; and his great grandchildren, Cyrus Neshan, Lennox Neshan and Poppy Neshan.
