He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia "Pat" Bridgeman O'Dell; his parents, James Meggs O'Dell and Eula Corn O'Dell; his brother Thomas Ray O'Dell; his brother-in-law Bill Weisner; and his niece Julie Hall.
He is survived by: his son James Patrick O'Dell; his sisters, Mary O. Weisner of Conway, SC and Carolyn; his siblings-in-law, Thomas Lawter of Landrum, SC and Shirley O'Dell of Simpsonville, SC; his nephews, Wesley Lawter, Greg Weisner and David Weisner; and his niece Ashley Ramos.
