She was predeceased by: her husband Victor Peter Thamel; her parents, Kosta Athanas and Anastasia Athanas (Christo-Fatse); and her sisters, Ann Mitro and Bessie Spiro.
She is survived by: her children, Peter V. Thamel (Patricia A. Thamel) of Ware, MA and Sylvia Thamel Shadel (Robert F. Shadel) of Traveler's Rest, S. C.; her grandchildren, Marnie Thamel (Paul Ergh), V. Peter (Kate Thamel), Brent (Cat Shadel), Spencer Shadel (Olivia Harrison) and Anastasia Shadel Speelman (Josh Speelman); her great grandchild Teddy Peter Thamel; and her sister Ellen Brown of Paxton. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
