He was predeceased by: his parents, Gus Shrum and Choyce Shrum; and his wife Ruth Shrum. He is survived by: his children, Bonnie Shrum, Russell Shrum Jr. (Lisa) and David Shrum (Carol); his siblings, Ray Shrum, Thelma Porter and Dorothy Williams; his grandchildren, Bryan (Robbie), Tim Shrum and Jill Shrum; and his great grandchildren, Carter O'Bryan and Avery O'Bryan.
