He is survived by: his parent Katie Chandler Carter of Lamar, SC.; his wife Margaret Langston Carter; his children, Stephen Carter (Miriam) of Effingham, Ben Carter (Kelly) of Dallas, NC, Scott Carter (Mona) of Timmonsville and Kevin Carter (Candy) of Florence; his grandchildren, Katie Carter Larsen (Brandon), Chief Petty Officer Joshua, Sarah Carter Wiggins (Ryan), Chandler Carter, Abby Carter, Harrison Carter, Olivia Carter and Holden Carter; his great grandchild Lillian Larsen; and his sister Wilma Carter Cooper.
