She was predeceased by: her parents, James Watts and Myrtle McElveen Watts; and her spouse J. W. Atkinson. She is survived by: her children, Tony Knotts, James Atkinson (Jennifer), Brenda Notter (Keith), Renee Beasley (Jamie), Sheila Knotts (Amy) and Leigh Watson (Doug); and her grandson Patrick Knotts. She is also survived by eight grandchildren.
