She was predeceased by: her parents, Erby Smith Lowder and Mary Edna Langley Lowder; her sisters, Betty Lowder Burgess and Mavis Lowder McKnight; and her pet Max.

She is survived by: her husband Richard Wood Norman; her daughters, Sheila McFaddin Miles (William), Sharon McFaddin Pridgen and Tammy Norman Stokes; her stepson Richard Wood Norman, Jr.; her grandsons, Cullen M. Clardy and R. Jackson Stokes; her siblings, Cheryl Cook (Richard), Kaye Nettles Lee (Coley), Ned Lowder and Steve Lowder; and her pet Jersey.
