With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Johnny Lamar Welch Jr. of Timmonsville, South Carolina, born in Sumter, South Carolina, who passed away on August 27, 2021 at the age of 36. He was predeceased by: his father Johnny L. Welch, Sr.; his grandfathers, John William Welch and Julius "Pete" H. Tarleton; and his uncle Chuck Welch. He is survived by: his mother Pamela Tarleton Dukes; his brothers, Malcolm Gunner Dukes of Timmonsville and Benjamin Dukes of Turbeville; his grandmothers, Mary Turner Tedder of Hartsville and Juanita Welch (Chesley Thigpen) of Turbeville; his uncles, Howard Tarleton of Timmonsville and Rodney Welch of Turbeville; and his aunt Renee Carter of Turbeville.
