It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Brite Tompkins (Timmonsville, South Carolina), who passed away on January 17, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James "Brite" Tompkins and Clara Cooper Tompkins; his siblings, Lee Tompkins, Reba Rogers, Jane Cribb, Margie Tompkins and Betty Tompkins; and his stepdaughter Gail Cunningham.
He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Turner Tompkins of Effingham; his grandsons, Nick Lester (Beth) of Effingham and Alex Wilson of Dillon, Montana; his daughter Tippy Retana; and his sister Gladys Pipkin.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Unity Christian Fellowship Church (3652 Olanta Hwy, Timmonsville, SC 29161). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
