It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ethel Gibbs of Timmonsville, South Carolina, born in Sumter, South Carolina, who passed away on April 24, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James E. Smith and Celia Reynolds Smith; her son Eddie Gibbs; her siblings, Thomas Smith, Harry Smith, Roy Smith, Alford Smith, Ruby Hickson and Betty Geddings; her grandson Eric Gibbs; and her son-in-law Harold Clay.
She is survived by: her children, Jacqueline "Jackie" Clay, Freddie Gibbs, Bobby Gibbs and Clark Gibbs; and her brothers, Jesse Ray Smith and Sidney Smith. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
