He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel B. Wells and Loree C. Wells of Pelzer. He is survived by: his wife Reba Southerlin Wells; his children, John Wells Jr. (Dora), Tim Wells (Tina) and Suzanne Carter (Mark); his grandchildren, John III, Alexandra, McKenzie, Caleb and Zach; and his sister Betty Williams. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
