He was predeceased by: his parents, William Lester and Minnie Duke Collins; his former wife Earlene Martin Collins; his children, Perry Collins and Wanda Collins; his siblings, Carolyn Suttles, Janie Hudson and Clyde Collins; his half-sister Doris Green; his parents-in-law, Leo and Melba Deckert; and his brothers-in-law, Harris Deckert and Warren Deckert.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Deckert Collins; his son Gregory Collins (Linda) of Westminster, SC; his daughter-in-law Joyce Collins of Westminster, SC; his stepchildren, Lisa Hall (Chris) of Simpsonville, SC and Gregory Harrison (Lauren) of Topsfield, MA; his sisters, Ruth Hudson and Patsy Merck (Johny) of Westminster, SC; his siblings-in-law, Charles Deckert of Dolton, SD and Haidee Deckert of Dolton, SD; his grandchildren, Jamie Collins (LeAnn), Tonja Watkins (Johny), Caryn Bladzik (Jared) and Kade Collins (Hannah); and his stepgrandchildren, Abby Hall, Caleb Hall, Silas Harrison and Ezra Harrison. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
