He was predeceased by: his parents, William Lee and Elizabeth Smith Mayfield; and his sisters, Juanita Whilden, Peggy Ridings and Nancy Howard.

He is survived by: his wife Harriet "Happy" Vaughn Mayfield; his daughter Jennifer; his son-in-law Michael Chaney of Buford, GA; his grandchildren, Danielle Chaney and Tyler Chaney; and his brother-in-law Mike Howard of Greer.

The family ask that social distancing guidelines be followed and masks are required.
