With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert N. Hughes of Taylors, South Carolina, who passed away on October 7, 2022 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Simeon Hughes and Eugenia Hughes of Greer; his cousins, Alan and Becky Hughes; and his close friend Steve Dillard.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Furlong Hughes; his daughter Genia Hughes-Carr; his grandson Alexander Carr; his son Russ Hughes (Sara) of North Aurora, IL; his stepson Jeff Rogers; his stepgrandchildren, Rebecca and Alex of Briarcliff Manor, NY; his stepson Michael Rogers (Tracy); his stepgrandchildren, Cameron, Colin and Gavin of Highland Park, IL; his cousins, Miriam Owens of Asheville, NC, Edith Horner (Tom) of Ormond Beach, FL, Dr. Jim Hughes (Virginia) of Brandon, MS, Tommy Hughes (Marie) of Greer, SC, Dr. Richard Hughes (Becky) of Black Mountain, NC, Murray Hughes (Martha) of Pickens, SC, Katherine Hughes of Charlotte, NC, Betty Griffin of Tacoma, WA and David Hughes (Karol) of Knoxville, TN; and his close friends, Leland Burch, Carl Gibson, Gene Gibson, Buddy Clayton, Bob and Charley.
