He was predeceased by: his brothers, James Meyer and David Meyer; and his great grandchild Richard Sawyer Summerlin. He is survived by: his children, Jeff Meyer (Roxy) of Anderson, Gail Ann Summerlin (Nathan) of Taylors and Becky Meyer; his grandchildren, Christina Carnell (Jon), Richard Summerlin (Nina), Jeremy Summerlin (Stephanie), Luke Summerlin (Calla), Ashleigh Ochoa (Daniel), Zachary Summerlin (Jazmin), Cody Summerlin, Tyler Summerlin, Wesley Summerlin, Jeffery Aaron Meyer, Laynie Lanier (Keith) and Matt Meyer (Brittany); and his great grandchildren, Grace Carnell, Emma Carnell, Megan Carnell, Molly Carnell, Abe Carnell, Alice Carnell, Pearl Summerlin, Sawyer Summerlin, Nolan Summerlin, Henry Summerlin, Holden Summerlin, Sophia Summerlin, Anna Ochoa, Jaxon Meyer, Braxton Meyer, Audrey Lanier and Matti Meyer.
