He was predeceased by: his siblings, Gaines Copeland, Alvin Copeland, Bill Copeland, Bessie Dill, Frances Green and Martha Amos.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Welborn Copeland; and his children, Tammy C. Smith (Bill) of Greer and Gerald Copeland of Taylors.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairview Baptist Church, 1300 Locust Hill Road, Greer, SC 29651.
