He was predeceased by: his parents, Howell C. Williams and Margaret Williams; his stepfather Shelby Newman; and his siblings, Pauline Williams Spivey, Katie Brock, Willie Johnson, Dan Williams and Roy Newman.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Williams; his children, Hannah Ruth Trawick (Phillip) and Jon Howell Williams; his grandson Ethan Trawick (Tuba); his sister Foy Gordon; his grandson Ryan Trawick; and his sister-in-law Ilsa Hoff. He is also survived by nieces, and nephews.
Howell's wish is for missions support in lieu of flowers.
