He is survived by: his wife Belinda "Lynne" Crabtree Nichols; his children, Gerald Matt Nichols (Kathryn Miniter), Wendi Nichols Englehart (William) and Tracey Nichols MacDonald (Darin); and his sister Nancy N. Griffin. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
