He is survived by: his wife Helen Huff Howell; his brother David; his children, Beth (Matt) and Stan; and his grandchildren, Daniel (Sol), Timothy (Laura), Jared (Jamie), Maranatha (John), Josiah (Marisa), Jonathan and Nathan. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
