We are sad to announce that on October 12, 2024, at the age of 89, Elvira Isabel Hernandez Jarvis (Taylors, South Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Walter Jarvis; her brother Gilberto Hernandez Chaparro; her parents, Dr. Nicolás Hernández Vergara and Rosalbina Chaparro Rodríguez; her siblings, Nicolasa, Lisaralde and Antonio Hernandez; her stepson Thomas Jarvis (Tommy); and her stepgrandchild Clemson Walter.
She is survived by: her children, Angelique Jarvis-Simmons (Terry), Carleton, D'Arcy, Phillippa and Alan Jarvis (Madelein); her stepchildren, Helen "Vickie" Jarvis-Desmond (John) and Charles "Charlie" Jarvis (Vikke); her grandchildren, Natalia Thompson (Gwyn), Alexandra Gabela (Alexis), Michael, Hector (Shelby), Frederick "Freddy", Mathias Jarvis, Amy and David Hurtado (Krystal); her great grandchildren, Madalin, Gabriel Thompson, Ziah and Cassius Jarvis; and her grandson Jarvis. She is also survived by son step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 17th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Woodlawn Memorial Park (1 Pine Knoll Dr, Greenville, SC 29609). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, October 18th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church (1209 Brushy Creek Rd, Taylors, SC 29687).
She had stoically battled cancer for 17 years and along the way, Alzheimer's made its way, too.
