He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Pate and Vera Pate; and his brother Roy Boyd. He is survived by: his wife Sue Pate; his children, Samuel Pate (Kim Pate) of South Carolina, Vickie Parker (Wade Parker) of Texas, Lois Norton and Sandra McMillan (Mike McMillan) of Georgia; and his siblings, Jackie, Jerry and Cleveland Pate. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
