He was predeceased by: his parents, John H. Thomas and Zola L. Pickett Foster; and his siblings, James Thomas, Robert Baskin, Lloyd Thomas, Willie Mae Bowen, Izora Glenn, Lucille Lyles, Jane Smith, A. C. Foster, Robert Foster, John L. Foster, Waymon Foster, Plea Mae Bowens and Eunice Murry.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth; his sons, Jerry Foster (Cathie) of Greer, SC and Ricky Foster; his siblings, Ilene LeFong of Winston Salem, NC and William S. Thomas of Bronx, NY; and his grandchildren, Corey Foster, Tyrance Jackson, Jerica Foster Coleman and Gerald Cade.
He donated furniture for the foyer of the new church.
