She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. Donald Walter McCarter; her parents, Arthur Wilson "Ted" and Hazel McKown Davis; and her brother Arthur Wilson "Ted" Davis III. She is survived by: her sons, Walter Kent McCarter of Lyman, Todd W. McCarter of Taylors and William Rusty McCarter of Taylors; her sister Jayne Johnson; and her grandchildren, Daniel Kent McCarter (Emily) and Carol Anna McCarter Estep (Tyler).
