He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Kaija Voutilainen Iivanainen and Kalevi Ensio Iivanainen; his wife Seija Hyvärinen Iivanainen; his children, Tero Iivanainen (Lisa Barnhill) of Lexington, Tony Iivanainen (Isy) of Wellington, FL. and Sarah Iivanainen Knauer (Daniel) of Columbia; his brother Tuomo Iivanainen of Kuopio Finland; his grandchildren, Tommy, Cool, Tristan Iivanainen and Amelia Iivanainen; and his nephew Riku Iivanainen.
