With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley J. Cockrell of Surfside Beach, South Carolina, who passed away on October 15, 2024 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Boyce Whitley and Ruby Laney Whitley; her husband Jack Cockrell; and her sisters, Mary Cunningham and Carolyn Pender.
She is survived by: her children, Jacky Cockrell (Patricia Steele) of Lancaster, SC, Vicky Stacks (Kenny) of Surfside Beach, SC and Shannon Cobb (Phil) of Murrells Inlet, SC; her siblings, Norma Williams, Kathy Uemura, Boyce Whitley, Jr., Mitchell Whitley and David Whitley; her grandchildren, Scott Player, Tracy Devlin (Chris), William Kirkland (Carissa), Seth Cobb (McKenzie) and Alli Pate; her great grandchildren, Karly, Jakob, Caden, Avery, Noah, Lakyn and Jessa; and her pet Penny. She is also survived by her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
