He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Wilson Gates, Sr. and Patricia Berthena Wheeler Gates; his daughter Rebekah Gates; and his brother-in-law Ken Latour. He is survived by: his wife Rosemarie A. DiLuzio-Gates of Surfside Beach; his children, Renata Morrissette (Paul) of Surfside Beach, Angelina Roy of Covington, CT and Ryder Tietz (Wendy) of Brimfield, MA; his sister Judith Latour of Conway, SC; his niece Sandra Jarvis (Richard) of Myrtle Beach; and his nephew Scott Latour of Conway, SC. He is also survived by five grandchildren; and one great grandson.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Ralph's name to the Marine Corps League Foundation, 2904 Cross Creek Drive, Cumming, GA 30040.
