He was loved and cherished by many people including: his son Dan; his parents, Joseph Mielczarek and Teresa Mielczarek (Suty) of Hartford; his son Robert (Lea); his grandson Evan Leon; his children, Kiley Shana Armstrong (Scott), Marcy Ann Littera (Steven) and Daniel Gabriel Jr.; his siblings, Stanley, Eddie, Lydia Lucci-Devaney (Bruce), Jane Tinti-Krezinski (Mike), Theresa Kollmer (Chris) and Krisha Morander (Greg); his grandparents, Josef and Stefania "Babcia" Suty; and his brothers, Teddy and Steve. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, a donation is appreciated towards a scholarship fund to be set up at Howell Cheney Tech in Dan's name.
