She was predeceased by: her spouse Edward J. Atkinson; her parents, James King and Ida Harbin King; and her sisters, Margie Boggs and Francis Honea.
She is survived by: her children, Gerald "Jerry" Atkinson (Pam) of Sunset and Carole Atkinson Maw of Six Mile; her stepsiblings, Jimmy King (Dale), Gene King and Linda King Robinson; her grandchildren, Kimberly Atkinson Sims (Greg) of Studio City, Karen Maw Hughes (Heath) of Mills River, N. C. and Chris Maw (Pam) of Lenoir, N. C.; and her great grandchildren, Cayla Hughes, Sarah Hughes, Kenny Maw, Douglas Maw, Kristen Maw and Virginia Wray Sims.
