He was predeceased by: his parents, John Godwin and Audrey Smith Cox; his daughter Shawna Adeeb; and his brother Edward Godwin. He is survived by: his wife Grace Marie Godwin; his children, T. J. Godwin, Jason Adeeb, Tommy Godwin (Stephanie) and John Godwin (Tierra); and his sisters, Debra McCall (Wayne), Lois Godwin and Faye Lito (Shorty). He is also survived by six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
