She was predeceased by: her parents, Clinton Gainey and Laney Hatchell Gainey; her husbands, Bobby Evans and Samuel "Pat" Mitchum; her daughters, Sherry Walker and Sharlene Hardee; her granddaughter Shannon Lee; and her siblings, James "Buddy" Gainey and Grace Griffin.
She is survived by: her close friend James Stephens; her children, Gloria Lee (Curtis), Wayne Evans (Doris Roberson) and Faye Branham (John Wayne DuBose); and her grandchildren, George Cantlon III, Angela Farris (James), Ronnie "Buddy" Branham (Miranda), Heather Bledsoe, Steven Evans, Spring Evans, Kristie Blackmon (Jerry), Damien Lee, Jennifer Lee, Angel Lee, Melisa Ward (Barry), Melinda Walker, Marlana Walker and Meagan Head. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home (515 Miller Rd, Sumter, SC 29150). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
