She was predeceased by: her parents, Pearlie Johnson Reed and Willie Smith; her sisters, Hattie McIllwain of Lancaster, SC and Mary Johnson of Bronx, NY; her nephews, William "Billy" McIllwain (Capitol Heights, MD) and Raymond McMurray of Old Saybrook, CT; her grandmother Mary Duren of Lancaster, SC; her aunts, Hattie Whitehead of Key West, FL and Bessie Smith of Lancaster, SC; her extended family Maggie Lee Johnson; her cousins, Teddie Lee Johnson, Patricia Russell and Angela Russell; her niece Jacqueline Anita Johnson; and her great-niece Wakiki Quintyne.
She is survived by: her sons, Rev. Joseph B. Johnson Jr. of Columbia, SC and Carnegie B. Johnson of Sumter, SC; her great grandchild Milan Rose Gieger; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Ingrid Crump (Troy), Cassandra McIllwain of Charlotte, NC and Attorney Raymond H. McIllwain (April); her cousins, Gwendolyn Scott (Walter) and DeVona McFarlane (Juno); and also Ophelia Truesdale McIllwain. She is also survived by other extended family in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins.
