He was predeceased by: his parents, Atticus Hagood Carter and Lula Gore Carter; and his siblings, James Carter, Gracie Lee Church, Patricia Daniels and Florence Price.
He is survived by: his children, Gail C. Norris (Kenny) of Sumter and Ricky Carter of Sumter; his grandchildren, Ryan Carter (Cristy), Brett Norris (Megan), Taylor Norris (Kaylee), Crystal Hatfield and Jamie Hatfield; and his sisters, Christine Jackson of Sumter and Bonnie Lou Carter of Loris. He is also survived by great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home (515 Miller Rd, Sumter, SC 29150). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
