She was predeceased by: her husband R. David Player; her parents, Reedy Paul Herring and Mary Alice Proctor Herring; and her daughter Melanie Lynn Player. She is survived by: her sons, Troy Player (Kim) of Pittsboro, NC, Trent Player (Susanne) of Rock Hill, SC and Tregg Player (Wendy) of Fuquay-Varina, NC; her grandchildren, Lauren Redding (Dillon), Lexie Player (Tyler), Lindsay Henry (Joey), Josh Player (Dray), Reed Player and Logan Player (Lily); her great grandchildren, Abigail, Ellie, Kate, Ruth, Sofia, Lucy and Jack; and her cousins, Karen Barwick, Daryle Walker and Tony Walker.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home (221 Broad St, Sumter, SC 29150). A graveside service was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery (802 N Guignard Dr, Sumter, SC 29150).
