With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ollie Mae Meeks of Sumter, South Carolina, born in Eastover, South Carolina, who passed away on September 9, 2024. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Richard L. Meeks; her parents, Benjamin B. Sharpe and Mae Belle McLain Sharpe; her daughters, Annie Mae Meeks Roberts (Wayne) and Beverly Jewel Meeks Deckard; her grandson Richard Owen; and her great grandchild Rachel Hutchinson.
She is survived by: her children, Leonard Meeks of Sumter, Margie Meeks Gardner (Charles) of Manning, Donald Meeks (Gloria) of Adrian, GA and Virginia Meeks Owen (Wayne) of Walla Walla, WA; her nephew Frank Hinson of St John's, SC; and her nieces, Evelyn Sharpe Chavis of Columbia, SC and Janie Mae McClain Allen of Charlotte. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God Church or to a charity of one's choice.
