He is survived by: his wife Lourena Nelson Chaney; his children, Natasha Chaney of Sumter, SC, Lastelle Nicole Chaney of Columbia, SC and Melvin Keith Chaney of Columbia, SC; his stepsons, Fancy English, III (Mary) of Sumter, SC, DeVane English (Monica) of Panama City and Kenneth English (Nicole) of Elgin, SC; his siblings, Donald Chaney of Sumter and Celestine Jackson of Sumter; his brothers-in-law, Otis J. Nelson, Jr. and Rev. Dwight A. Nelson (Flora); and his close friend Col. Temple Evans. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
