It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Larry Gene Brooks (Sumter, South Carolina), who passed away on January 7, 2025, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Brooks and Lila Mae Haynes Brooks; and his siblings, Mary Nash Brooks, Irene Hicks, Joe Brooks, Edward Brooks, Jim Brooks and Thomas Brooks.
He is survived by: his siblings, Birdie Brooks of Brooklyn, Lila Mae Robinson of Sumter, Janie Robinson (Frank) of Sumter, William Brooks of Sumter, Solomon Brooks of Sumter and Albert Hicks of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Whites Mortuary (517 N Guignard Dr, Sumter, SC 29150). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Church of God (609 Atlantic St, Sumter, SC 29150).
