He is survived by: his children, Jean Gardner Martin Hockenyos (Mark) of Raleigh, NC, Carol Gardner Jones Reynolds of Sumter and Kenneth Ervin Gardner, Jr. (Buddy); his grandchildren, Shannon Martin McGowan (Keith) of Raleigh, NC, Charles Thomas "Chip" Martin, III (Mindy) of Oceanside, CA, Audrey Elizabeth Jones of Columbia, Brandon Gardner Jones (Erica) of Columbia and William Danner Gardner of Los Angeles, CA; his great grandchild Corey Mason Jones of Greenville; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Warren McGowan of Raleigh, NC, Grant Lawrence McGowan of Raleigh, NC, Martin Gaffney McGowan of Raleigh, NC, Beau Gardner Martin of Oceanside, CA, Juliet Ferrell Jones of Columbia, Beatrice Ferrell Jones of Columbia and Arlo Ferrell Jones of Columbia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
