He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius "Bootsie" Brown and Dorothy Porcher Brown; his wife Sharon Franklin Brown; his brother Julius "Rudy" Brown; and his uncles, Nathan and Cornell Brown.
He is survived by: his children, Troy Franklin-Brown (Tasha), Tory Brown (Aminah) and Amber Porter (Delven) of Ohio; his siblings, Delores Brown of Columbia, Barbara Brown of Atlanta, GA, Norman Brown of Sumter, Linda Brown of Columbia and Tonya Finnie (Dwayne, Sr.) of Virginia Beach, VA; his mother-in-law Vivian B. Franklin; and his siblings-in-law, Bennie J. Franklin, Samuel Q. Franklin (Cynthia) and Vivian "Candi" Bankston-Franklin. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.
In accordance with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 3410 Hill Road, Sumter.
