He was predeceased by: his parents, David Furman Mixon and Annie Mae Brown Mixon; his daughter Sharon L. Mixon; and his siblings, Dorothy Weaver, David Lee Mixon and Barbara Ann Wadford.
He is survived by: his wife Jeanette Sims Mixon; his son Dwight Mixon (Susan "Mimi"); his granddaughters, Ashleigh M. Pack (Conner) and Kaylee Grace Mixon; and his great grandchild Hadley Grace Pack. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home (515 Miller Rd, Sumter, SC 29150). A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Sumter Cemetery (700 W Oakland Ave, Sumter, SC 29151).
