As Eva Carmel departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Eva Carmel. Though Eva Carmel may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her husband William Paul Riggs; and her parents, Augustus E. Godwin and Hazel Ophelia Poole Godwin. She is survived by: her sons, Don Riggs (Ellie) of Sumter, Tom Riggs (Marsha) of Sumter and Steve Riggs (Beverly) of Sumter; and also Bobby Godwin (Pat) of Newport. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren.
