She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert "Bob" Hyman and Lila "Polly" Gibbs Hyman; her husband George Smith; and her siblings, Roberta Hyman Evans, Phillip and Jack Hyman.

She is survived by: her siblings, Gibbs Hyman and Rebecca Trotter; her nephew Robert Hyman; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Lily and Cannon; her niece Chastity Martin; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Junior and McKenzie; and her nieces, Debbie Grooms and Jackie Hunter. She is also survived by nephews, nieces, and other family members.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Carolina Memorial Funeral Home (7113 Rivers Ave, North Charleston, SC 29406). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel (7113 Rivers Ave, North Charleston, SC 29406). A burial was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at the Carolina Memorial Gardens (Carolina Memorial Gardens, North Charleston, SC 29406).
