He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Franklin and Katherine Arnold Smith. He is survived by: his daughters, Mary Teel (Tom) of Pendleton, Kathy Mae Springer (Carl) of Seneca and Patricia Ann Boyd (John) of Anderson; and his close friend Sarah Ducworth. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
