He was predeceased by: his parents, Ligon Lorenzo Barr and Beatrice Black Barr; his brother Vernon "Sonny" Barr; and also Betty Brant Barr. He is survived by: his wife Judy Brown Barr; his children, Eve Ann Lyle (James) of Gaffney, SC and Adam Barr (Beth Bishop) of Springfield; and his grandchildren, Caleb Barr (Jaden Millard), Rebekah Barr (Aaron Ayer), Elizabeth Barr (Dalton Hutto), Sarah Barr (Caden Bartlett), Hart Lyle, Luke Lyle, Leah Barr and Mackenzie Lyle.
The family has asked that memorials be made to the Oliver Gospel Mission, P.O. Box 7697, Columbia, SC 29202.
