With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of George Hammond Walton Sr. of Springfield, South Carolina, born in Saluda, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 19, 2024 at the age of 95. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Pierce and Odessa Powell Walton, Sr.; his wife Rebecca Elise Walton; and his siblings, Ellie Hoover, Edna Walton, Mary Walton Blackston and Thomas Pierce Walton, Jr..
He is survived by: his daughter Mary Louise; his son-in-law Thomas Williams; his sons, George Hammond "Jake" Walton, Jr. of St. Matthews, SC and James Acie; his daughter-in-law Lisa Walton of North, SC.; his sister Bobbie Rodgers of Batesburg-Leesville; his grandchildren, Joshua Justice, Tiffany Vega, Nicole Suggs, Nathan Walton, Jason Alan, Beth Walton, Justin Acie, Amber Walton and Tiffany Gelton; and his great grandchildren, Savannah Williams, Alexis Lee, Jaylene Lee, Sydney Lee, Olivia Walton, Jackson Walton, Acie Walton, Marquise Walton, Reagan Walton, Alyssa Walton, Arianna Walton, Harley Walton and Nicolas Walton.
