Though Spencer may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He is survived by: his children, Blaik and Amberin (Doris); and his brothers, Scott and Floyd.
Memorial donations may be made to the St. Matthews Episcopal Church Food Pantry, to which Dr. Mathews himself often donated.
