He was predeceased by: his parents, Mont A. Burgess and Ruth Burgess (Jennings). He is survived by: his children, Robert A. Burgess, Jr. of Spartanburg and Mia Delores Watson of Duncan; his sister Sandra Jo Steadings of Pauline; his grandchildren, Shane Robbins, Tommi Burgess, Blake Burgess, Ashley Breckenridge, Kimberly Burnham and Chuck Cordell; his close friend Ruth Campbell; and his friend Paul Burgess. He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Westwood Memorial Gardens (6101 Reidville Rd, Moore, SC 29369).
